Pelvic Health Physical Therapy in Powell, Ohio

Located in Powell, Ohio and serving the Columbus Metropolitan Area, we, at Core Strong Physical Therapy, believe that pelvic health physical therapy is imperative in learning how our core system works and how to care for it so that we can maintain an active, healthy lifestyle. We also believe in exhausting the minimally invasive options before moving to interventions such as surgery, medications or injections for pelvic dysfunction.

With information more readily available, the healthcare climate is shifting and many people are demanding non invasive treatment options. Thankfully, there are options available to treat pelvic dysfunction that are non surgical and non medication driven. At Core Strong Physical Therapy we take an individualized, holistic and collaborative approach to pelvic health to help our patients gain and maintain independence in their lives with self management and prevention techniques.

This cannot be done through a “cookie-cutter” approach or outdated methods. “Kegels and electrical stimulation” are rarely the answer. This one-dimensional technique can be common in over-run, corporate chain physical therapy clinics. You’ll see that this is not the case with us!

At Core Strong Physical Therapy, we pride ourselves on working with you and what is important you, not stopping treatment simply because you have reached “medical necessity.” Whether it is having sex without pain, jumping on the trampoline with your kids without leaking urine, or running a marathon without feeling pressure in your pelvis, if it is important to you, it is important to us.  All of these things can be improved and eliminated with pelvic health physical therapy and at Core Strong Physical Therapy, we are happy to be the ones to help you with this!

While we LOVE working with our patients, we think it is incredibly important that our patients love working with us as well. Having a great relationship with your care team, from your practitioner to the front office, is imperative and we want you to know you are cared for and supported by all of us. Here’s a bit more about us so that you know you’re making the right choice trusting us to be on the journey of recovery with you:

  • Pelvic Health is our specialty, not an added service we provide to make us more marketable to the community.

  • You will be cared for as if you’re a member of our family (but not that weird uncle that you try to avoid at family gatherings. No, like that cousin you love and can’t wait to catch up with!)

  • We love working with your complex life and are not overwhelmed by your medical and personal history. We enjoy the opportunity to help you problem solve and bring your nervous system out of fight or flight.

  • We are often the 3rd, 4th or even 5th pelvic floor physical therapist our patients have worked with and we cherish the opportunity to provide you with the hope and interventions to help you recover the life you want to live again.

  • We provide a safe, judgement free space to have uncomfortable conversations instead of trying to brush over challenging topics due to our own discomfort, effectively leaving you without much needed answers.

  • All care is provided one-to-one in a private space where you can feel free to discuss your symptoms without being in a gym and worrying that the teenager rehabilitating their ankle sprain on the next table over is going to hear you tell your therapist that you tried to have sex but it was too painful.

  • We value relationships and collaboration with other local practitioners so that we can help you set up your care team to reach your goals. This allows us to remain the experts in our field instead of trying to do everything ourselves and allows other practitioners to remain the experts in their field so that we can truly provide high level, holistic care and help you change your life, not just your pelvic symptoms.

  • CSPT is a family friendly practice! We welcome children into our treatment sessions so that you never feel like you have to cancel your visit due to lack of childcare.

  • We encourage partners to join our treatment sessions when appropriate instead of allowing you to place the entire burden of recovery on yourself.

  • We work with you to gradually implement more knowledge, techniques and movements into your life so that continuing to get better after you’re discharged from physical therapy is easy instead of having a laundry list of exercises to do that give way to “more pressing matters” just a few short months later.

If you are ready to finally say goodbye to your pelvic symptoms or if you have any further questions about what makes us different in the world of pelvic health, please feel free to contact our clinic and we would be happy to discuss what recovery might look like for you!
